Field Day at the Company’s Trial Station in Tartous – Golden Sands

On March 8, 2021, Debbane & Co. organized a field day at the company’s trial station in Golden Sands. The event was attended by around 100 distributors and farmers who complied with all COVID-19 preventive measures. Different specifications of tomato varieties were presented, including Dalal, Rindala, Mandaloun, as well as the new variety named Kasiyon, which grows during the long season and for which two greenhouses were buit (one for soil cultivation and the other for cultivation without soil). The tomatoes also included a new cherry variety and a new price range that suits the Syrian market. Farmer Issam Ahmad was honored for his excellent work in cultivating a rich variety of eggplants for several years. The attendees then took a tour around the station and participated in assessing the varieties.
