YOUR RELIABLE SOURCE FOR LEADING AGRI BRANDS SINCE 1976
Represented by Eng. Zuhair Al-Sitt, Technical Director, Eng. Diaa Hammoud, Head of the Gymnosperm Department, and Eng. Al-Hassan Sayegh, Debbane & Co. toured the fodder corn fields in Al-Safirah and Dayr Hafir in Aleppo. The aim of the tour was to follow up on cultivated varieties and provide necessary technical support, including fertilization programs and control materials, as a means to reach the best production with farmers in terms of quantity and quality.
An improvement has also been noted in Syria, in terms of the area, production and yield of yellow corn, whereby the cultivated area is estimated at about 55 thousand hectares. This great change in cultivation and production of yellow corn is due to its importance in feeding livestock. It is also due to the increase in prices of imported corn, as well as the investment in reclaimed lands in the Euphrates Basin. In fact, intensive cultivations are mostly found in the Euphrates Basin, Al-Ghab and Homs, where irrigation water is available. The importance of this crop is constantly increasing due to the expansion of the production of improved varieties, and the use of modern technologies in agriculture.
