YOUR RELIABLE SOURCE FOR LEADING AGRI BRANDS SINCE 1976
In mid-July, the Leili Alga 600 competition, entitled “Leili Touch Season”, was launched. Debbane engineers and the distributors and farmers who worked with them touched the results of Alga 600 with their own hands. Through these experiments, the effectiveness of the famous seaweed extract Alga 600 and its distinctive capabilities were demonstrated.
Each engineer chose the crop that was suitable to him in accordance with the common crops cultivated in his work area, so that he could follow up and evaluate his experience. All experiments were carried out under the guidance and follow-up of Dr. Wael Al-Matni, Director of Bioorganic Materials, who explained to each engineer the optimal way of working and recording readings.
Engineers promoted Leili materials during the experiment and explained what they were doing to the distributors and farmers they work with. They talked about the experiment and showed the importance of Alga 600 and its features. At the end of the experiments, many distinguished results were published on the Syrian Leili webpage, along with pictures.
The final evaluation of the experiments submitted for the competition was based on report forms filled with the required information and the main points from the experiments. These included the experiment plan, creative ideas, documentation of all stages of work, implementation and follow-up in addition of a well-prepared and complete report that included the digital readings, analysis and images of untreated and treated plants, cost and profit calculations, and finally the resulting increase in sales.
A ceremony honoring the winners was held at the company headquarters in Homs, where the General Manager, Mr. Osama Qabbani, distributed valuable prizes to the winners, who were applauded by a cheering audience.
The winners
First place: Engineer Mahmoud Al-Abdullah – Hama, who carried out several experiments on zucchini in all stages of plant growth, from seed to harvest. He proved the ability of Alga 600 to strengthen seed germination, enlarge the size of the first leaves and increase the plant strength and production as well as its resistance to viral diseases and aphids.
Second place: Engineer Suleiman Al-Hassan – Homs, who carried out experiments on lettuce. The treated plants showed more strength and rapid growth, which brought about the harvest season nearly ten days earlier. Also, the size and weight of the treated lettuce were noticeably larger, which made the farmer’s profits greater than profits from untreated plants.
The second place was shared with engineer Diaa Hammoud who carried out an experiment on figs. The results proved the ability of Alga 600 to reduce the falling out of figs due to excessive heat, and the economical use of Alga 600 on figs.
Engineers Qusay Oreij, Muhannad Dandal, Wael Al-Matni, Firas Al-Jaber and Obadah Qazmuz, who had successful experiments with grapes and olives in Sweida and Aleppo, won the third place. They demonstrated that the use of Alga 600 results in larger fruits and tightly-packed bunches of grapes with excellent coloration, sweetness and resistance to the high temperature that prevailed during the experiment period, and leads ultimately to more profitable production.
Engineers Yaaqoub Yaaqoub, Al-Hassan Sayegh, Iyad Khoury and Zahi Shahoud won the fourth place. Their experiments were on cucumbers, tomatoes, tobacco and watermelon. Although their experiments were not well supported by economic analysis or appropriate images, they proved that the plants treated with Alga 600 were highly distinctive, especially amid the harsh weather conditions that these crops experienced.
All Debbaneh & Co engineers excelled in this activity and the results were worth the reward. Today they look forward to starting the experiments of the second season 2020-2021 with greater confidence.
Everyone wins with Alga 600.
